Redding Consortium for Educational Equity

Efforts to improve educational opportunities in Wilmington continue to evolve as the Redding Consortium for Educational Equity considers a series of plans aimed at reshaping how local schools are organized and supported. These discussions, which focus on redistricting and restructuring, have sparked interest among community groups, education advocates, and district partners who are working to build coalitions around shared goals for students.

As conversations progress, it is important for families and community stakeholders to understand what is—and is not—being proposed.

While some of the potential plans include restructuring that could involve the Brandywine School District, there is no current proposal to eliminate Brandywine. The Consortium’s work centers on exploring how Wilmington’s school districts might be consolidated or reorganized to better serve students, reduce fragmentation, and strengthen the support systems available across the city.

What can you do?

Help ensure that accurate information is shared, reducing confusion about proposed changes.
